Taste History Culinary Tours in Lake Worth/Lantana and Delray Beach/Boynton Beach usually feature a bus-riding-and-walking experience with tastings at family-owned restaurants and visits at cultural facilities, but this Saturday’s tour includes a different component: farming.
Taste History, operated by the Boynton Beach-based Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History, has “adopted” the Urban Farm project in downtown Boynton in order to help coordinate volunteers for the farm’s replanting on Saturday (Sept. 7).

The Urban Farm is a project of the nonprofit Community Caring Center of Greater Boynton Beach. It provides fresh produce to frail and elderly shut-ins, nutrition/food-preparation classes and chefs at the center’s farm-to-table Secret Garden Café.
The farm and café are now among the highlights of Taste History Culinary Tours in Boynton. Tour director Lori Durante says volunteering for this Saturday’s replanting of the farm “is a joyful opportunity to connect with the earth, support local farms and give back to the community.”

Taste History Culinary Tours—launched in 2009 and sponsored in part by Macy’s and a couple of charitable funds—begin at 11 a.m. on the second, third and fourth Saturdays of each month.
Tours of Delray and Boynton are offered on the third and fourth Saturday; Lake Worth/Lantana is on the second Saturday.
The tours are $40 for adults and free for children—and they routinely sell out. Restaurants that have partnered with the tours are `rotated’ on each tour itinerary so no two consecutive tours include the same eateries.
